Welcome to “Irish Separatism and Southern Secession” an online exhibit about the Irish experience in the American Civil War and an explanation why Irish migrants fought on either side of the Civil War. The exhibition, which is based on my book project Separatism and the Language of Slavery, explores the background of Irish migrants at home in order to gain a better understanding about Irish migrants in the American Civil War.
